She was muslim and he was an orthodox christian.  They were 25 and had been together for nine years, having met at school.  Seeking safety, they decided to flee the besieged city of Sarajevo in May of 1993.  Both muslim and christian officials had granted them safe passage and had promised them that they would not be hurt.  However, as they crossed over the Vrbanja bridge, they were deliberately gunned down by christian snipers.  Bosko died immediately and Admira, wounded crawled through the mud towards him.  She put her arm around him and without trying to escape to save herself, died by his side.  Their bodies lay there for five days.
